The third instalment in the Clun Valley Jazz/Tomorrow’s Warriors series welcomes Maddy Coombs and her quartet to Bishop’s Castle.
Hailing from Northampton, Maddy studied at Guildhall. She has played alongside Judi Jackson, Soweto Kinch and Mark Kavuma, as well as having performed her own music at venues including, We Out Here Festival and Pizza Express Jazz Club.
Her own music draws inspiration from many artists including Joe Henderson, John Coltrane, Melissa Aldana and Joel Ross, amongst others, and her and her band will be playing a set of standards and original music.
Alongside Maddy (tenor sax) will be Sultan Stevenson (piano), Zoe Pascal (drums) and Menelik Claffey (bass).
